The acquisition of Ruffler Bank was the most important element in Base Commercial returning to the lending market which it had exited in July 2008 when funding ceased.
Full details of their new programmme and lending criteria will be published shortly but most significantly they will not be taking direct business from borrowers or brokers unless it is channelled through one of 10 mortgage brokers; Mortgages For Business is very pleased to have been selected to join their panel. We will report on progress in the coming weeks.
This is another important step in lenders returning to the market to give full coverage of all sectors and to create some competition and feeling of choice for borrowers.
The management team of Mark Stevens, Robert Lankey and Martin Thurlby are to be congratulated on keeping their team together in preparation for resuming lending; they must have worked very hard these past few months to get to this position. Some larger brands would really like to be in their position today !!!!
