Microgeneration technologies ''increasingly popular'' - property development financePublished: 2.8.2007More and more homeowners are looking to install microgeneration technologies in order to gain a grant from the government''s Low Carbon Buildings programme, it has been revealed.The Ecology Building Society has said that it understands the grants, which can extend to as much as £2,500 per person, have been significantly oversubscribed as property owners look to install items such as wind turbines and heat pumps. The number of homeowners attracted by the prospect of free Property Development Finance is now approaching 3,000, figures show. "[The grants programme has been] inundated with requests from people wanting to install microgeneration technologies," advised Ecology Building Society marketing manager Jenny Irwin. "It has been a success - from what I have heard they can''t keep up with the enquiries they''ve been having for grants and there is not enough money available for everyone that wants them - so it has been more than successful," Ms Irwin added.
