Manchester property sector remains optimistic - commercial mortgages

Published: 7.5.2008

In news which may interest those with Commercial Mortgages, the majority of experts in the Manchester property sector believe the city''s commercial property boom has not fallen flat.

Asked by the Manchester Evening News whether the wheels have fallen off the market in Manchester, eight experts answered no, three answered maybe and just one said yes.

The two-thirds who said the market was still in good shape included Mark Rhind, managing director of the CTI Support Network internet agency, who said there was "no sign of a commercial property downturn" in the Northern Quarter district of the city.

Another to give an upbeat assessment was real estate specialist Ross Wellman of law firm Haliwells.

He said the commercial market was in a better state than the residential market and that many companies would be able to take advantage of "more realistic" prices.

One such company may be Real Estate Investors, whose chief executive Paul Bassi has said he is anticipating a further moderation of prices in the midlands, at which point he will make new investments, the Financial Times reports.
