Glasgow ''needs more office space'' - commercial mortgages

Published: 8.5.2008

Glasgow needs more office space, it has been reported, news which may interest those with Commercial Mortgages in the area.

The development of new facilities for companies in the city may be emerging as a pressing issue after commercial property consultancy DTZ revealed that there is just 75,000 sq ft of grade A space available, the Scotsman reports.

One development which will help is the Cuprum development in Cadogan Square, which will provide an extra 98,000 sq ft when it is completed later this year.

At present 4 Atlantic Quay is the location of most of the available grade A space.

While Glasgow is short of space, Aberdeen''s commercial office market has recently been reported to be still busy.

Surveyor James Richardson, who returned recently to his old employer Shepherds at its Aberdeen office, observed that on the basis of the activity taking place in the company''s commercial section there it was evident that the city''s commercial property sector is "very active at present", Liquorice Media reported last month.
