Developer Urban Splash has revealed full details of its new redevelopment of Birmingham''s iconic Rotunda

The company which states it is presently investing £1 billion of Property Development Finance in regeneration projects across Britain has turned the cylindrical structure, formerly filled with offices, into a residential development with 234 apartments.

Completed in its original form in 1965, the building is the third major redevelopment project undertaken by the company in the West Midlands metropolitan area, the other projects being the former Fort Dunlop tyre factory in east Birmingham and the mixed-use Walsall Waterfront.

The Rotunda is a grade two listed building and survived a threat of demolition in the early 1990s.

According to Skyscraper News, at 265 ft (81 m) it is currently the eighth highest building in Birmingham, although it will slip to ninth when the nearby Snow Hill tower is completed.
