Mortgages for Business celebrates at Business Moneyfacts Awards 2009 - 27.03.2009

Mortgages for Business had a doubly successful evening at the prestigious Business Moneyfacts Awards 2009 hosted by renowned presenter and journalist Sandy Toksvig held at the Marriot Hotel, Grosvenor Square on Thursday 26 March.

Not only was Mortgages for Business a finalist for the Commercial Mortgage Broker of the Year but the MD, David Whittaker was singled out for a Lifetime Achievement Award in the mortgage industry. His career was humorously reviewed by Sandy and touched on his time in the Army (and as a diver raising the Mary Rose in 1982) but also his contribution to the formation and development of the broker trade body, The National Association of Commercial Finance Brokers (NACFB), from its formation to the present day.

Adam Tyler, Chief Executive of NACFB, commented “We were delighted to be Sponsors of this key industry event and to have one of our own members be the first recipient of this inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award is a wonderful bonus not only for us but also for David who has worked hard within the industry and has twice been our President at key stages in the development of the NACFB.”

David Whittaker was uncharacteristically almost lost for words but recovered sufficiently to observe “I am very honoured to receive this award and would like to re-assure my colleagues that this doesn’t mean I will be retiring anytime soon.”
