Buy to let mortgages: Saffron Building Society opens up its buy to let offering to existing landlords wanting to purchase or remortgage vanilla buy to let property. It is particularly appealing to landlords with large portfolios, as it will lend a maximum of £1.5 million on up to 10 properties and does not impose any limit on the level of borrowing with other lenders. A selection of its rates are also offered without any early repayment charges. Applicants are required to earn, or have a pension income of £25,000 and must be 25 years of age.
Residential mortgages: Saffron offers a range of every day residential mortgages and remortgages to home-buyers and owners. It also provides a range of mortgages for special situations including self-employed borrowers, contractors and self-builders.
Development finance: Saffron's development finance offering is open to good quality applications for developments in strong locations. They will accept applications from limited companies, with personal guarantees at around 25% of the loan amount and will also consider interest roll-up. New build flat schemes are accepted - depending on the area.
