£30m retail park for Grimsby - commercial mortgages

26 April 2007

Plans for the development of a new retail park space in Grimsby have been outlined by Henry Boot Developments, in a project valued at £30 million.

Wharf Retail Park will be a major new addition to Grimsby town centre, intended to attract new businesses to the area while offering existing firms the chance to expand their operations. This includes those businesses with commercial mortgages for premises in the region.

The new site will be located at derelict land in Grimsby and will eventually cover 150,000 square feet in total. Early reports state that a number of national chains are looking to move into Grimsby and may find premises at the new retail park.

"It is a very positive scheme for Grimsby, giving greater opportunities for additional high street names to move into the town," commented Vivienne Clements, director with Henry Boot Developments, according to Property Executive.

Plans to offer units of between 10,000 and 30,000 square feet each have been announced.

Henry Boot Developments recently added River Island to its retail portfolio at Ayr Central in Scotland, following two years of legal wrangling.
