Alan Sugar encourages delegates at Harrogate event - commercial mortgages

Sir Alan Sugar gave a rousing speech to business leaders at a gathering in Yorkshire, it has been reported.

He told delegates at the Going Global conference that although the times of living in a "financial Disneyland" were over, there is hope yet for entrepreneurs, according to the Business Desk.

And he made some predictions that may be reassuring to those with commercial mortgages, saying that businesses in the UK will be better off than those in the US.

"I think that the financial markets will bounce back and when they do they will be more controlled - and I think that the level of business will grow again," Mr Sugar added.

The event, held in Harrogate, was designed to provide expert advice for firms hoping to enter new markets.

Alan Sugar is widely respected in the business world and has recently become a television celebrity by fronting the Apprentice series.

He has a net worth of over £800 million, according to his biography on the BBC site.
