Commercial mortgage holders may be interested to know that the BBC is seeking potential buyers for its television centre.
Alongside consultant Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH), the corporation is looking for conventional freehold property sales or other ideas, possibly involving a joint venture.
Its primary objective will be to ensure that the company and licence fee payers receive the best possible value for money.
Head of BBC Workplace Chris Kane explained that "high investor demand for commercial property in London" alongside a lack of similarly distinctive sites has led the company to anticipate "strong competition".
LSH chief executive Ezra Nahome said that the city "has fast become the world capital for prime investment and development opportunities".
Television programmes including Fawlty Towers, Monty Python's Flying Circus, Doctor Who and Blue Peter have been filmed in this location since it first opened on June 29th 1960.
The site should be fully vacated by 2015 and all parties that wish to purchase the building should inform the business of their interest by July 1st 2011.
