Birmingham market ''to withstand crunch'' - commercial mortgages
23 July 2008
The office space market in Birmingham could hit a golden patch in 2010, according to a new report released by Atisreal, something that may interest those searching for commercial mortgages.
And sections of the industry are continuing to perform well at present despite the ongoing credit crunch and accompanying economic turbulence, the firm stated, as reported by the Birmingham Mail.
Head of the company''s Birmingham office Tim Suffield said that there have been some strong performances in the opening half of the year.
"The main headline rents have remained relatively firm and for the first six months of this year occupier demand has held up well in both office and industrial sectors," he told the publication.
He added that it is "unlikely" Birmingham will be hit by the credit crunch as hard as London and that the region is under "transformation".
It was recently confirmed that Barclays Bank would move to a new 98,000 sq ft venue at Snowhill, Birmingham, the same paper reported.
