Birmingham property confidence ''still high'' - commercial mortgages
24 April 2008
In news which may interest those looking to take out commercial mortgages in the midlands, the commercial property market in Birmingham has been described as still containing a lot of confidence.
Management consultancy Faithful+Gould''s head of property sector Andy Speight told the Birmingham Post that while it was true the property scene in the city had been hit, the sector still had reasons to be cheerful.
He said: "In terms of commercial property, there is nearly always activity and so we have no reason to be despondent."
Mr Speight stated that the company was involved in many medium and long-term schemes, which included a number of public-sector schemes.
He concluded that from the point of view of himself and the company''s 150 staff in Birmingham, the situation was not bad and was "just a blip in an otherwise healthy and blooming city".
Development body Urban Initiatives will unveil a major blueprint for the redevelopment of the city centre later this year, property Week reported in January.
