Buy to let landlords offered accreditation for quality
Written by Simon Whittaker.

Buy to let landlords are to be eligible for accreditation from the National Landlords Associations (NLA), which rolled out a certification scheme for the private rental sector today (May 25th).

The NLA will be working in tandem with local councils to provide information and support to landlords, an opportunity to promote their business, as well as a means whereby tenants can check the quality of each landlord's services.

Richard Price, director of operations at the body, commented: "NLA Accreditation is a mark of excellence in which both councils and tenants can put their trust."

A six-month trial of the programme has been completed in which, through both online and face-to-face training, landlords undertook a structured course that helped them to develop professionally.

Offered free participation in the scheme and a way of increasing quality accommodation in their area, there has been great demand from local authorities, the organisation said.

Members of the NLA can take the foundation course for free, but there is a charge for those that have not joined.
