Buy to let supply and demand boost - buy to let mortgages
29 June 2009
There has been a "significant increase" in both the supply and demand within the buy-to-let property sector, according to editor at Property Investor News magazine Richard Bowser.
As well as this bringing potentially good news for those with buy to let mortgages, Mr Bowser cited anecdotal evidence which suggests consumer confidence is returning across the UK.
He called the situation a "sharp contrast" to the early stages of 2009, when mortgages were hard to come by and property prices were generally lower than they are now.
"Many letting agents have been busier and, of course, that has put pressure on actual market rents," Mr Bowser explained.
The south of England in particular has seen rental levels stabilise compared to earlier in the year, he added.
Experts from across the industry have recently advised would-be landlords to carefully research the markets and considered regions before entering the buy-to-let sector.
