Energy-saving advice from NEF - commercial mortgages
23 June 2009
Business bosses who have taken out commercial mortgages for their places of work may be looking for ways to save money.
According to the National Energy Foundation (NEF) - an organisation that focuses on helping companies and homeowners reduce their carbon footprints - more people should utilise solar energy for financial and green reasons.
Firms looking for ways to enhance their social responsibility credentials could therefore install solar panels on their commercial buildings - it could save them cash, as well as being good for the environment.
A spokesperson for the NEF said: "I still firmly believe that every single property that is built in the UK, if it doesn't have solar panels on it [...] then I ask, 'Why?'"
Explaining the attractiveness of this energy source further, he added that solar is an infinite quantity and "there is 8,300 times more solar energy that comes onto the planet each year than we use".
