Executive confident about commercial property market - commercial mortgages

In news which may encourage those thinking of taking out commercial mortgages, the executive director of the Business Centre Association Jennifer Brooke has given an upbeat assessment of the flexible managed space segment of the industry.

Speaking on the eve of the annual conference and exhibition of the association, which takes place today and tomorrow (May 12th and 13th) in London, Ms Brooke said: "Flexible managed space providers report continued strong growth across both office and light industrial space, bucking the trend in the wider commercial property market."

Ms Brooke added that "flexibility, innovation and service" would be the central themes of the conference and noted that James Caan, a panellist on the BBC programme Dragons Den would be one of the speakers.

A number of experts on the industry believe now is the time to start investing again, the Scotsman reports.

One of them, Andrew Wilson, head of investments at independent financial advisory firm Towry Law, told the paper the market had "bottomed out".
