Financial uncertainty for SMEs - commercial mortgages

Small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) face an uncertain time in the current economic climate, according to market research agency Continental Research.

Perhaps indicating the importance for firms to find the best commercial mortgages, the researchers suggested that it is hard for businesses to plan too far ahead.

Shiona Davies, director at Continental Research, said that enterprises are hearing conflicting information about the future of the economy.

"It is very difficult for these businesses to plan anything, as they don't know how long they are hanging on for," she explained.

"The results look pretty pessimistic, with few predicting things will improve this year but whereas some sectors might suffer others may well do alright."

In a situation like this, firms are likely to seek out the best commercial mortgages to ensure they have the best financial deal.

One business that recently moved offices to meet the challenges of the current environment was Welcome to Yorkshire, the tourism group for the region.
