Kent office building work given green light - commercial mortgages
10 February 2009
The green light has been given for a new phase of building to go ahead in Kent.
Ashford borough council has granted permission for developer Quadrant Estates to construct four new office buildings at the Eureka Business Park, which may offer an opportunity for holders of commercial mortgages in the area.
The project will see the Northdown II development being built on the site following the success of Northdown I.
In addition, the council has given its approval for ACT Foundation to construct a new Basepoint scheme at the location, which will consist of office and workshop buildings.
Eureka Business Park has space for 1.25 million sq ft of commercial developments to be added to the site.
Judith Armitt, the managing director of Ashford's Future, said the new construction work can "only strengthen Ashford's appeal to potential investors of all sizes".
The borough's population has more than trebled over the past 40 years and now stands at around 112,000.
