Landlords are 'looking to invest'

22 January 2010

Written by David Whittaker

Buy to let landlords should be aware that property remains on of the best ways to invest money, according to one expert.

Editor at LandlordZONE Tom Entwistle said that landlords are expected to build up their property portfolios due to the strength of the market.

"However, caution is the key to success," he advised. Buy to let owners should ensure they are selective in the area and type of property they purchase.

Terraced properties are particularly good investment options for landlords, Mr Entwistle continued.

Such buildings have lower maintenance costs than other and can offer high rental yields.

Tenants such as young professionals are likely to be attracted to terraced properties and they are less likely to cause wear and tear.

According to Upad.co.uk, 64 per cent of UK landlords were more confident about the buy to let market in January than during the previous month, when 58 per cent reported the same.
