Linley & Simpson expand rental portfolio - buy to let mortgages
Letting specialist Linley & Simpson (L&S) has acquired rival company Ashtons after seeing demand rise for rental properties.
The deal means that all of Ashtons letting portfolio - covering Wakefield, Horbury and Ossett - will now be managed by L&S, as reported by the Business Desk.
Despite much publicity about a downturn in the buy to let mortgages sector, the director of L&S, Nick Simpson, claimed that the agency had experienced the busiest month in the firm's history.
Ross Harding, manager of the company's Wakefield office, said the new deal would "offer landlords and property investors the opportunity of being able to access a wider pool of prospective tenants".
Recent figures from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors showed that the number of landlords putting their properties up for sale was at the lowest level on record in July - with the proportion opting to sell at the expiry of the tenant lease falling to 2.1 per cent.
