Major regeneration project for Bristol announced - commercial mortgages
15 February 2007
Places for People and PG Enterprises are developing a scheme intended to regenerate the St Paul''s area of Bristol and to attract a significant amount of investment to the city.
In a project which may interest those considering commercial mortgages, the plans are expected to include both retail and commercial properties, in addition to a hotel and residential buildings.
Tom Tippets, head of strategic land acquisition at Places for People, said that the project will connect with the wider community as part of a larger initiative to regenerate areas of the city.
"This represents a golden opportunity to continue redeveloping the central area of Bristol and create a viable and sustainable neighbourhood with a mix of homes and jobs for local people," 24dash quoted him as saying.
The scheme is expected to provide a "gateway" to the £500 million development of the Broadmead area, which also includes the creation of new retail and leisure properties.
Places for People currently has a £2.3 billion asset base and aims to provide "safe and sustainable" communities.
