09 February 2007
Those contemplating taking out commercial mortgages may be interested to hear that Morley Estates is to expand its property portfolio across Manchester and Merseyside.
Oliver Morley, the property entrepreneur at the spearhead of the business, has negotiated a £75 million package within the two regions, adding to a plethora of industrial properties held by the company.
The £100 million portfolio currently includes 20 sites around Bromborough on the Wirral - including the former Candy Electronics site - and the Haydock and Oldham areas, according to the Liverpool Daily Post.
Matt McConville, director of Morley Estates, said: "We are going to use the money to redevelop the portfolio.
"We''ve got one million sq ft of industrial buildings in Merseyside, spread evenly across Wirral, Haydock and Knowsley."
He added that the buildings, spread evenly between Merseyside and Manchester, host small independent businesses as well as larger firms such as TNT and the Vimto distributor Nichols Foods.
Morley Estates promises to offer a "truly personal service" and works alongside a network of local lawyers, architects, property developers and other estate agents.
