Estate agents in the UK saw average property sales drop between July and August, according to the professional body that represents them.
The National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) indicated that the average number of homes sold by agents in July was 8.6, but this fell to 7.6 last month.
More properties were available for sale - with the average agent marketing 64 homes in August, compared to 59 one month before.
These figures would appear to suggest that there is now more choice for people who have secured mortgages and are looking to buy bricks and mortar.
Would-be landlords who have had buy to let mortgages approved may want to investigate the current market to see if they can find deals suitable for them.
According to the NAEA, the number of house hunters registered with estate agents dropped from 292 to 238 over the period in question.
And even though the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors recently claimed that the gap between asking and selling prices has decreased, the estate agent body found that the difference between prices has grown since July.
