Mortgage seekers 'want advice'

Today's mortgage landscape dictates that 23 per cent of people are less confident about choosing a new mortgage deal without advice, according to new research.
Professional advice website Unbiased.co.uk said that confidence has dropped in the last 12 months.
Whether it is the best buy to let mortgage they are after or other types of home loan, consumers wish to get as much information as possible, it would seem.
David Elms, chief executive of Unbiased.co.uk, remarked: "In today's fast-changing mortgage market the need to seek personal, expert advice based on everyone's individual circumstances has become even more important."
He added that it is encouraging that an increasing number of people are opting to ask for whole of market mortgage advice in order to get the best deals individual deals.
Demand for buy to let mortgages has remained strong this year, according to Property Hawk website editor Chris Horne, although he claimed that many would-be landlords have failed to secure the finance due to lending restrictions.
