NLA merges with Scottish association - buy to let mortgages
21 January 2009
The National Landlords Association (NLA), which is the leading trade body for those with buy to let mortgages, has announced a merger with the South of Scotland Private Landlords Association.
It means that the NLA will now represent Scottish buy to let investors in the southern part of the country.
Jim Parker, the chairman of NLA Scotland, said that the deal would allow the body to provide a "louder voice" to landlords in the area.
"We are absolutely delighted to welcome the South of Scotland Private Landlords Association into the NLA," he remarked.
Mr Parker revealed that the organisation will now work to "raise the profile" of the private rental industry and boost its contribution to housing in the region.
Recently, legislation was introduced into Scotland that means landlords are obliged to provide prospective tenants with energy performance certificates, to help people assess the energy efficiency of a property.
