North-east Scotland market commended - commercial mortgages
05 June 2009
The commercial property market in the north-east of Scotland is holding up "remarkably well", according to managing director of building and property consultant FG Burnett.
Angus MacCuish said this is particularly true when the region is compared to other parts of Scotland and the UK.
It could mean that there has been a strong demand for commercial mortgages in this part the country.
Mr MacCuish revealed that there is a "healthy level" of interest for offices - both from a leasing and purchase perspective.
He also offered advice to the business world, saying: "My view is that compared to what investors can earn on cash, commercial property remains a good bet and when UK plc starts to believe things are getting better, some of the current property investment opportunities are going to look very cheap indeed."
His comments come after FG Burnett retained its Investors in People standard this month - after a positive review from inspectors.
