Rental levels described as firm - buy to let mortgages
24 June 2009
There have been a number of reports released in recent weeks that will have made good reading for those with buy to let mortgages.
Recent Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors research indicated that its members predict rental prices will increase in the coming months as more property owners switch their attention to selling bricks and mortar, rather than letting it out.
And FindaProperty.com's Rental Index found that the average UK rent in June was higher month-on-month. This was the first monthly rise for almost a year.
Now, chief executive of property investment adviser firm Assetz Stuart Law has claimed that no weaknesses have been detected in rent levels.
He remarked: "There have been wobbles here and there in certain buildings as they come on the market, but in the big picture, rents have been very firm because all the demand that used to buy property has swung over to renting instead."
