Report says more commercial space needed in Exeter - commercial mortgages
10 March 2008
Those looking to take out commercial mortgages may find that Exeter is a good location in which to invest as the city is reportedly suffering from a shortage of commercial office space.
Local property consultancy Alder King has concluded that the supply of office space and industrial units is "tight", reports the Exeter Express and Echo.
The report also said that industrial lettings were stabilising, which may suggest the Exeter market is better placed than that of many other locations.
Partner at the firm Ralph Collinson told the paper that Retail was set for a particularly eventful year, stating: "It''s going to be an interesting year, but Exeter''s pretty well-placed for it, particularly with all the land coming through to the east of the city, at Skypark, the Science Park and Exeter Airport."
Another location which is said to still have a highly active commercial sector is Manchester.
Infinity Lang Asset Management, Manchester-based firm has just appointed two new members to its commercial property division.
Their role will involve building up the company''s £100 million commercial property fund, which was set up in January, Crains Manchester Business reports.
