Buy to let property owners may be interested in the latest survey by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Rics).
According to statistics from last month, house prices rose again in January.
Some 32 per cent of chartered surveyors noted an increase rather than a fall in cost during the first month of the year - up from the 30 per cent who said so in December.
However, there was a reported drop in buyer enquiries, which was the first time this had occurred in 14 months.
Rics explained that this was due to the poor weather seen while the survey was carried out.
Last month saw what was dubbed The Big Freeze in the UK. Temperatures plummeted and most areas of the country experienced heavy snowfall.
Spokesperson for the organisation Ian Perry said this caused "seasonal chaos" in the property market.
"Activity and interest is likely to pick up in the coming months as the market experiences a spring bounce," he explained.
