25 February 2008
A new masterplan for Sheffield is hoping to attract top companies to the city and boost the local economy through showcasing the commercial opportunities available.
Sheffield city council will discuss the plan this Wednesday following "extensive consultation", according to the cabinet member for economic regeneration, culture and planning.
Tim Rippon added that it is aimed at continuing Sheffield''s social, environmental and economic transformation as part of a long-term goal to attract "high-performing, high-value" businesses to Sheffield.
He said: "The city has high quality office space [and] stunning public realm, which all combines to attract companies to the city, and allow local business to thrive."
According to Mr Rippon, the plans will draw the attention of the nation and the global community to Sheffield, while providing locals with "jobs and economic prosperity".
Those interested in taking out commercial mortgages may already be interested in opportunities in the city.
Creative Sheffield claims the city is an "exceptional" business location, with cost-effective property and staff costs.
