Commercial mortgage clients may be interested to know that the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) has predicted they will be at the heart of the UK's economic restoration next year.
The organisation published its new year message stating Britain's five million small businesses will have fragile but important growth plans in 2010.
Whichever government is elected at the polls next year must nurture small business plans and allow entrepreneurs to thrive.
In order to do so, banks must resume normal lending criteria, the federation advised.
FSB chairman John Wright said exporting goods and services could be the way out of recession.
He added that a reformation of the JobCentre Plus is needed so that small and medium sized businesses can create necessary jobs.
An enterprise allowance scheme would also encourage people to establish their own companies, Mr Wright stated.
Reverso Dictionary notes that such a scheme would give those unemployed a weekly allowance in order to set up a business.
The recipient must invest a certain amount of money in the business's first year, it explained.
