'Use internet for tenancy agreements' ? buy to let mortgages
03 December 2008
Investors with buy to let mortgages have been encouraged to take advantage of free tenancy agreements that are available on the internet.
Paul Farndon, a property management consultant at online portal learnletting, said the free versions that can be downloaded from the web are equally as good as those that are paid for.
"You can just about get everything for free on the internet including notices, guarantor agreements and everything like that. If you use the internet well then it won't cost you anything," he remarked.
Adopting this practice means that landlords can include the appropriate information themselves in the tenancy agreement rather than relying on an outside source, Mr Farndon noted.
He was speaking at a seminar entitled Drafting a Good Quality Assured Shorthold Tenancy at the Landlord and Buy to Let Show, held recently in Birmingham.
Meanwhile, research by mydeposits.co.uk has found that tenants lose over £15,000 per month by breaching the conditions of their contracts.
