£5m business centre launched in Airdrie - commercial mortgages
27 October 2006
Commercial property investors, including those with commercial mortgages, seeking to re-locate have the opportunity to tour the brand new Airdrie Business Centre.
The £5 million 'green' project is now the home of five businesses following its opening two months ago, with 32 offices remaining offering space from 17 sq m to 133 sq m, Property Executive reports.
The development was built to specific eco-friendly standards in an effort to reduce energy wastage, while its moss roof provides an "environmentally-friendly insulation and ventilation system", the website states.
David Porch, director of planning and environment at North Lanarkshire council, comments: "Our £5 million investment shows our commitment to the business community in Airdrie and in Lanarkshire and we're delighted that companies are recognising the benefits of the area as one of the UK's most successful business locations by choosing Airdrie Business Centre."
Plans for the project were originally unveiled by the Council in 2004 as part of a wider regeneration programme for the area to provide new business space and to encourage "new business start-ups".
