Local business and charity project spread festive cheer

Mortgages for Business and Keystone Property Finance, have teamed up with Offham-based charity Spadework to deliver hampers to their corporate partners and clients.

Spadework, which provides day care services and meaningful work-based opportunities for more than 100 adults with learning and other disabilities, will be packing 82 hampers for the two local businesses.

Jenny Barrett, Marketing and Research Director at Mortgages for Business, said:
“Every year we hunt for special gifts to send as a thank you to our corporate partners. We came across Spadework only recently but immediately we knew we wanted their wonderful hampers. Not only do they make perfect presents but by supporting this very hands-on charity we can give back to the local community.”

David Whittaker, CEO at Keystone Property Finance said:
“Each year Keystone Property Finance sends out hampers with local produce as corporate Christmas gifts and Spadework is a brilliant local charity which have produced a range of gorgeous hampers. We are thrilled to be able to support the work that they do.”

Over three days the IT room at Spadework’s five-acre site was used by trainees, volunteers and staff to pack the hampers, which will be sent nationwide.

Kris Healey, Spadework General Manager, said:
“Our farm shop stocks lots of products produced in Kent, from fudge to wine, as well as our own homemade chutneys and jams. We were delighted to be chosen by Mortgages for Business and Keystone Property Finance to produce their hampers. The order was an opportunity for our trainees to learn new skills, while interacting with two local companies. We had quite a production line going, which turned out to be rewarding as well as good fun.

“All the proceeds from the project, after costs have been covered, go back to support the work we do with vulnerable adults. These kind of projects are vital to sustaining our charity”.
